Trevelyan retired from academia after a long career of teaching and research in medicine and biophysics. The resulting freedom enabled him to explore his fascination with fundamental topics in the philosophy of science, particularly the implications of relativity and quantum mechanics for our views on the nature of the universe and our place in it.
