Dale E. Knutsen

Dale Knutsen received his B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering from California State Polytechnic College in 1963. He spent the next 33 years becoming increasingly involved in the field of strike warfare, working in private industry for 3 years and for the U.S. Navy for the remainder. His experiences supporting the analysis, development and combat application of strike weapons form the basis for "Strike Warfare in the 21st Century." The book is written in everyday language, without the usual array of technical or military terms, jargon or acronyms, and is recommended reading for newcomers to the field (both civilian and military), news media, decision-makers and anyone with an interest in this powerful military capability. Since retirement from federal service, Mr. Knutsen has indulged in freelance writing of small, niche market works dealing with topics of interest to his home region in the forests of northern California. He also prepared and presented a two-day introductory class on strike warfare for Navy technical staff members, and has been a volunteer in the fields of topographic map updates, wildland fire prevention and mitigation, and rural navigation training for regional search & rescue teams.
