Bart Robinson

Bart Robinson is co-author of the Canadian Rockies Trail Guide, which has sold over 260,000 copies. Hikers affectionately refer to this hiking guidebook as "the Bible." When it was published in 1971, it was the first book with accurate distances and detailed descriptions to the hiking trails of the Canadian Rockies. Following the publication of the Canadian Rockies Trail Guide in 1971, he has authored several other books on the Canadian Rockies including Banff Springs: The Story of a Hotel, Columbia Icefield: A Solitude of Ice and Great Days in the Rockies: The Photographs of Byron Harmon. Subsequently, he has enjoyed a long career as a journalist, editor, and conservationist. He was an editor with Equinox magazine from 1982 to 1994, and the Executive Director of the Yellowstone to Yukon Conservation Initiative from 1996 to 2003. More recently, he has worked for the Alberta Ecotrust Foundation and Parks Canada. He currently lives in Canmore, Alberta, where he pursues a number of freelance projects.
