Jackie McGregor

Jackie McGregor has been a prominent newspaper columnist and features writer for three decades. She began her journalism career in 1998 as a cinema reviewer for The Mirror, and has been writing her weekly ‘Jackie’s World’ column for the Belfast News Letter since 2005.

Her life and work have been featured in The Daily Mail, The New Statesman, and numerous magazines, including Woman, Woman's Own, and Woman & Home. Beyond journalism, Jackie is an award-winning poet, a playwright who served as writer-in-residence at the Peter Quigley Theatre School in Belfast, and a commercial writer with fifteen years of experience as a copywriter in the greetings card industry.

A member of the Society of Authors since 2011, Jackie is the author of several books, including her acclaimed anthologies The House That Built Me and They Can't Take That Away from Me. Published via Hachette/Headline, these celebrity-backed charity collections were compiled as a loving tribute to her late parents, who both suffered with Alzheimer's disease. Jackie donates 100% of her author royalties from these books directly to the Alzheimer's Society to help fund vital support and dementia research.
