Alice I. Duff

Alice has been collecting patterns since a teenager. She used to get them for a nickel at thrift shops, then at antique stores and shows, then e-Bay (not for a nickel!). She put together a small collection and a report for a ninth-grade school project, and her mother made her three dresses and a blouse from the old patterns.

Many years and many patterns later, she suddenly wondered if she could DO something with those hundreds of patterns. She inquired, and ended up with this book!

She also collects other antiques such as dresses, shoes, hats and jewelry. Her other interests are old houses and historic preservation, and cats; she volunteers in her community in those areas.
