Joseph Schickel

FACE TO FACE: Conversations with my Father is a son's memoir about his elderly father coming to live with his family after his mother dies.

Author, Cincinnati Firefighter, and photographer Joseph Schickel is director of the William Schickel Gallery in Loveland, Ohio, and literary and artistic executor for his late father, the artist and designer William Schickel (1919-2009). He was layout consultant and photographer for Gregory Wolfe's book Sacred Passion: the Art of William Schickel (Second Edition), University of Notre Dame Press, which was a finalist for Foreword Review's Book of the Year Award in the Art Book category in 2010. He lives in Loveland, Ohio with his wife, music and theatre teacher Susan Reindl Schickel (aka Susie) and their three sons, William, Tom, and Charlie. This is his first book.
