Bernd Struben

Born in Suriname in 1968, Bernd Struben was raised in the United States and is an Australian citizen. Though he has yet to venture beyond Earth, he has crisscrossed the globe as an adventure tourist and made his home in the Caribbean, South America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

He now lives in South Australia with his wife Melanie — a teacher, artist and poet — and their daughter Hannah.

Bernd began his professional writing career in 2004 creating content for adventure tourism & travel websites and magazines. That followed numerous years in other vocations such as the park service, construction management, and stints as a scuba instructor. Today, when he's not writing science fiction, fantasy, and horror stories, he continues to work as a business editor for commercial publications.
