Shahzad Rizvi

Shahzad Rizvi was born in India in 1937 into a literary family. In the cradle he heard the voices of many giants of Urdu literature, some of them his own relatives. He began writing and telling stories at an early age. After receiving a Master's degree in English, he became a college lecturer, but before long, he was attracted to the United States to pursue more higher education. In the US, he attended Johns Hopkins' School of Advanced International Studies, worked as a professor, served as an interpreter at the White House, and became a consultant in the field of international relations. He is the author of fifteen books, including poetry in two languages, and novels and stories in English. He has been honored as a writer by the Literary Associations of Bhopal and Delhi, India, and All-India Radio has broadcast a program on him. Dr. Rizvi lives in a suburb of Washington D.C. with his wife, a former diplomat.
