Owen Pye

Published author and former international journalist Owen Pye was born in Cornwall, England, and holds UK and US citizenship. A UWIC honours degree graduate, he has travelled extensively and holds a Masters in International Journalism from UCF. He has worked as an entertainment reporter for New York Magazine in Manhattan, international news reporter for The Associated Press out of its Sydney bureau, and local reporter for the West Briton newspaper in the UK.

Articles he has written for the AP have appeared for such publications as The New York Times, The Guardian, The LA Times and The Washington Post. Owen's debut book The Bodyboard Travel Guide (printed by Orca Publications), was released in 2011 to international acclaim, and his second book Born to Boogie: Legends of Bodyboarding, was globally released in 2013.

He was also a contributing author of Surf Travel: The Complete Guide (released 2012), and has contributed to various national and international magazine publications.
