I feel more passionate about photography than just about anything else in this world. A lot of people have told me they enjoy photography but just don't know where to turn for training. That's where this book comes in. You will learn excellent photographic and Photoshop skills plus the visual skills needed for successful photography. You will also find chapters on business practices and other business-related sections that make this book a comprehensive package. I am thrilled with Photo 1, especially when people tell me it's fun to read!

This book satisfies the needs of photographers from all backgrounds, including people with minimal training and people who have used film-based cameras for years. I also included many photographers' styles from around the world to encourage you to become more creative with your photography.

I live with my husband in central Wisconsin. We share our lives with three horses and two dogs. My golden retriever, Slide, is a certified Therapy Dog. Slide and I volunteer together at the local hospital and university.

I've taught photography at the college/university level for over 15 years and teach online Photoshop, Illustrator, and Photography classes at https://takelessons.com/profile/katie-s39?online. I currently teach full-time at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. My photographs have won international recognition in fine art competitions and have been widely published in magazines, calendars, brochures, and posters. I am an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop CC. I love to help other photographers visually express themselves through photography and offer presentations to photo clubs and organizations.
