It's been almost 20 years since I started this writing thing. Most of my adult life was spent wanting to write a novel, but not having a clue how to go about doing it. I'd come up with opening lines or opening paragraphs and then didn't know what to do next. Then one day, I outlined a novel in my head and went home and started writing it. That became my first novel One Night in Bridgeport.
A story-writing storm door opened as a result of that effort and over the next 8-10 years, I wrote another novel and dozens of short stories. I also started a handful of other novels, but each ended up about halfway complete before I got bogged down. The last 6-8 years have been filled with a whole lot of writer's block and angst about the block. I rarely write a short story these days and it has taken me years to complete my two latest efforts -- The Irrepairable Past and The Dime.
I'm now working on another half-completed project -- The Jump -- that I hope to have out by the end of the year.
Meanwhile, I'm semi-retired from attorney life and enjoy my naps.
