Nick Radcliffe is the founder and director of Stochastic Solutions Limited, a Scottish company specializing in consulting in topics around data science, data analysis and data engineering. He has also, since 1995, been a visiting professor in the Operations Research Group in the School of Mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. He is known for developing forma analysis of genetic algorithms and uplift modeling, before more recent work on test-driven data analysis.
Prior to Stochastic Solutions, Radcliffe was a co-founder and chief technology officer for Quadstone Limited, a 1995 spin-out from the University of Edinburgh.
His current company, Stochastic Solutions, also produces data science software. Prior to Quadstone, Radcliffe was part of the team that formed the Edinburgh Parallel Computing Centre (EPCC) at the University of Edinburgh.
Radcliffe has been a long proponent of sustainability, writing Sustainability: A Systems Approach for WWF Scotland with Tony Clayton in 1996.
