John Wren

Who is John Wren?

5280 Magazine says I've infused Denver with an entrepreneurial spirit.

I grew up in a family business, Mom had dinner on the table every night at 6 p.m. for Pop's daily seminar on business and life.

I worked with Pop for nearly 20 years after school, on summer vacations, and then full time after I married in 1967.

After we sold Pop's business in 1969 at a good price for cash, I made an unsuccessful attempt to start my own business. In 1974 I returned to graduate school where I studied with an interest in the process of successful startup before there was an Inc Magazine, and I got involved with politics and student government. DU's Chancellor Maurice Mitchell became a friend, and he introduced me to a DU trustee who hired me as his assistant, sort of a second chance to be the boss's son.

I'm the founder of IDEA Cafe Startup Workshops, Socrates Cafe for CEOs and Startups, Franklin Circle Peer Advisory Groups, and I'm the Founder & CEO of Small Business Chamber of Commerce, Inc. which has been formed with the hope of cooperating with local chambers across Colorado and beyond to organize free IDEA Cafe Startup Workshops. Our new project is Wren College of Self-Directed Learners

I've done business consulting since 1979, in my own private practice, with a large national consulting firm, and with C.P.A. firms. Read my little book, then contact me. You will get new ideas and be glad you called whether we decide to work together or not. Please do it now, I'd hate for us to miss this opportunity.
