Biography of R.N.Mutagi

Born in Belgaum, a small town in Karnataka, India in 1948 studied Telecommunication Engineering and graduated in 1971. Worked at the Space Application Centre of the Indian Space Research Organization from 1972-1999 in variopus capacities. This period gave him an opportunity to develop many of the first-time technologies for various satellite communication projects undertaken by ISRO. He has develoed most of the systems described in his book "Digital Communication: Theory, Techniques and Applications". He moved to Canada in 1999 and worked at several Aerospace companies as systems engineer and contributed to many satellite communication programs.

Mutagi has passion for teaching and he taught as a part-time teacher both in India and Canada to satisfy his urge to teach. During this period he realized that a book is due in his favorite field covering the practical aspects missing in many classical texts. Many of his articles in RF Design and other magazines have titles beginning "Understanding ..." are very popular and appreciated by readers world over which motivated him to write the book on Digital Communication.

Currently he is a Professor and Head of Electronics and Communication Engineering Department of Indus University at Ahmedabad, India.
