Welcome, I have been writing historical fiction for the last few years, but I'm now returning to modern times and to my passion - conspiracy thrillers with a link to the art world. My latest, THE INCUBUS TAPES is just published. This book continues the series of art thrillers which began with THE REMBRANDT SECRET and went on to be published and translated worldwide in many languages.
THE INCUBUS TAPES
1941 - Psychiatrist Addison Franckel opens a clinic investigating shell shock. Many of the patients' histories are filmed. What the tapes reveal is so disturbing the government has them suppressed. Amongst accounts of sleep paralysis and night terrors, there are rumours of unexplained paranormal activity. Accusations of medical abuse and rumours of missing patients follow, and in 1945 Addison Franckel disappears.
2024 - Researcher Gus Egan begins work for Louis Willes, a historian writing a biography about Henry Fuseli, painter of ‘The Nightmare.’ Willes’s property was once part of the Franckel clinic and as soon as Gus arrives an anonymous contact tells him there are copies of the infamous tapes hidden there.
Hindered by the secretive art world, watched by authorities unwilling to have the past resurrected, Gus risks his own life to expose the link between a notorious painting created in 1782 and the harrowing Incubus Tapes.
A WREATH of SERPENTS
What happens when a kidnapper picks the wrong victim?
Already a killer, Sam Purchass snatches a random woman at Heathrow Airport, taking her back to a dilapidated farmhouse, the scene of other murders. But the following morning he discovers how badly he has miscalculated. His victim, Kara Famosa, is not some unknown girl, but the daughter of Luis Famosa, a wealthy and powerful Cuban art dealer.
Panicked, the kidnapper decides to murder his victim and destroy the evidence, a desperate Kara finally convincing him to ask for a ransom. Her father will pay, she assures him. If not for her, certainly for the Gustav Klimt painting she stole. And the damaging expose she wrote about her family.
At the same time in London, Kara's ex lover offers his help and is soon embroiled as the kidnapping becomes big news on both sides of the Atlantic. As various characters emerge, all desperate to hide past events, the Klimt painting becomes a ploy. A ransom to buy freedom. But as time passes Thomas realises he is playing cat and mouse with the family's past as he tries to uncover whether the kidnapping was random, or planned.
How much would a parent pay to see their daughter's safe return?
How much would they pay to regain the Gustav Klimt portrait?
And how much would they pay to bury a book that could ruin them all?

THE AGE OF DARKNESS published 2023 was set in the Medieval Ages and tells the story of the rivalry between the church and the nobility, set against the brutality of the Dark Ages.
The trilogy about THE BORGIAS was published in July 2022/2023 . Taking a different slant, I'm investigating the corruption and depravity at that time in Rome - not just outside the family, but inside as well. In its true that the BORGIAS were seeped in decadence, greed, simony and sexual excess - yet their contemporaries were also villains when it suited them. The likes of Cardinal della Rovere, Savonarola, Machiavelli and Leonardo da Vinci, who became a military advisor to Cesare Borgia.
TEMPESTA MALEDETTA was published 23rd July 2020 - Launched in Rome by Newton Compton. The theft of Giorgione's painting, 'The Tempest', unites London, Venice and New York - brought to their knees by the coronavirus - with the Venice of the 16th century, devastated by plague.
