Alesia Matson

Alesia Matson is one of the creative forces behind Metaphor Publications, Inc. Along with Michael, her husband and MetPub’s co-founder, she weaves thoughtful, lyrical narratives that reach out to readers from the world of Menelon.

She was born in Xenia, Ohio in 1961, already enchanted by the power of words. Growing up with a well-used library card and surrounded by books, she developed an appreciation for storytelling that blossomed into a passion for writing.

She has two grown sons from her first marriage, which began in 1983 and ended in 1993. She met and married Michael in 1994, and moved to California to begin writing professionally. As a co-founder of Metaphor Publications, Alesia uses what she’s learned from a life-long struggle with depression in her writing, delving into the complexities of identity, resilience, and hope in developing her characters. Her voice is warm, insightful, and reflects a profound belief in the capacity of stories to heal and unite us all.
