Born in Evansville, Indiana, Mac has lived a life as adventurous as his characters—spending time in the Philippine Islands, Saigon, and Florida before making the Florida Keys his creative home. His protagonist, Cam Derringer, navigates the sun-soaked streets of Key West and the turquoise waters of the Caribbean, chasing secrets, killers, and conspiracies while his loyal golden retriever, Walter, keeps him grounded.

Mac has been a full-time writer since 2012, and his novels have become known for blending the laid-back charm of island life with the high-stakes pulse of a thriller. From treasure hunts gone wrong to dangerous cartels and ruthless killers, his tropical thrillers capture the beauty and peril of life where land meets sea.

When he isn’t writing, Mac enjoys traveling the Keys with his wife, Cindy, and daydreaming about the day they’ll call Key West home.
