Ruth Heald

Ruth Heald is the internationally bestselling author of psychological thrillers, including The Mother's Mistake, I Know Your Secret, and The New Girl. Her twisty domestic suspense novels have been translated into eight languages and enjoyed by readers worldwide.

Ruth’s path to writing thrillers is as eclectic as her plots. After studying Economics at Oxford, her career spanned everything from nuclear decommissioning to management consulting, followed by nine years at the BBC before writing full-time.

Driven by a fascination with psychology, Ruth writes to uncover what pushes ordinary people toward violence, destruction, and revenge. Drawing on her experiences living across Europe and Asia, she explores our greatest fears within otherwise normal, domestic lives. She is married with two children.
