Edward P. Polack

E. Phillips Polack, (MD, 1971, West Virginia University, MA, 2006, West Virginia University) is Clinical Professor of Surgery at West Virginia University. Dr. Polack's initial book, Applied Communication for Health Professionals, was published in 2008. He has lectured widely in the topic of provider-patient communication, mindfulness and teamwork at major universities, at all levels of the health care hierarchy. He is past Governor of the West Virginia Chapter of the American College of Surgeons, and is an instructor in communication at the Clinical Congress of the American College of Surgeons. He has served as Visiting Professor in both residency programs and major academic institutions including the Canadian Surgical Forum in 2007. He currently practices plastic surgery at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, West Virginia, where he serves as Chairman of the Committee on Ethics.
