Mr. Mark E. Mitchell

I was a voracious reader in my growing up years, reading almost anything I could find. Later I found that in that process, I had "accidentally" read several books that would qualify as classics today. (I also read many that qualified as junk then and now) After I started having children, and they became old enough to understand me, I found great delight in telling them stories. Some of the stories I told them eventually became so real, I had to write them down, and they are today published in a series of five call "The Chronicles of the House of Chax."

At first, I must admit, my writing was primitive, and the majority of what I wrote was not worthy of the attention of anyone else. Ironically, until my writing became better, I was not aware that it was not good enough to show off, so I must have embarrassed myself many times over.

Gradually, I've gotten better, and today even my wife admits (and that's a big deal, believe me) that I express myself pretty well. My latest novel to come out, "I Worshiped my Car," proves it I think, and is, in my opinion and therefore not at all to be trusted, a good story with some thought provoking questions and insights. (Please don't take my very biased word for it)

So far, I've written 21 novels, and I'm hard at work on 22. The current one is a young adult fantasy, about a young man, disabled by cruel circumstances, who discovers ancient lore about the rocs, the giant birds that once soared in the skies above his city. Is his understanding enough to cure his disability and restore him to his rightful place? We'll see.

While I'm writing, I'm trying to figure out the marketing process. Self publishing is quite easy through Creatspace, but getting people to know who I am is quite a challenge. Have patience with me while I learn, please.
