Mary Quijano

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Mary Nowel Quijano went to Honduras after college as a Peace Corps Volunteer. You can find some of her adventures as a volunteer in "Gather the Fruit One By One, 50 Years of Amazing Peace Corps Stories." When she finished her Peace Corps service, she remained in Honduras for a number of years, teaching at the American School in Tegucigalpa, the capital city. Returning to the United States with her husband whom she met and married in Honduras and her two daughters who were born there, she proved the Peace Corps motto which states that you'll come back with more than your luggage. She continued to teach in elementary schools in San Antonio, Texas.

Because she found such delight and success with riddles in her classroom, she wrote "Hooked on Riddles" to share that fun and value with readers of all ages. After over 30 years of teaching, she retired and now works as a substitute teacher where she continues to enjoy giggly riddle sessions with students. In her spare time, when she isn't traveling with her husband or playing with her grandchildren, she continues to share her love of riddles on her Face Book page "Hooked On Riddles" or on her Web Page, HookedOnRiddles.com.
