Tracy Griffen was born and bred in rural South Australia. As a youngster she was very active cycling and hiking around the Adelaide Hills in her spare time.
She moved to Edinburgh over 20 ago, and it took her awhile to adjust to the seasons. Having worked in various freelance jobs (including cooking and journalism) and doing fitness qualifications, she launched Griffen Fitness in 2005. Originally Tracy used to cycle to all of her PT clients, however got a ‘bit busy’ so opened her fitness studio in Leith in 2010. Her style of fitness includes lots of outdoor exercise, as well as helping clients with realistic nutritional advice.
In 2011 she published the 'Healthy Living Yearbook', which is all about eating and keeping fit over the British seasons. Tracy wrote her second book 'Get Fit and Enjoy It' when her fitness studio was shut for the first UK lockdown in 2020. Her personal goal is to teach as many people as possible how to enjoy getting into exercise, without having to use loads of equipment.
