Dick Waters

Dick lives in the Valley of the Sun near Phoenix Arizona. He lived in New England for most of his early life, and says the sunny days in AZ are a welcome sight.

When he retired in '09 after about forty years in fields related to Manufacturing, Materials and Distribution, he needed to utilize some of his former creativity - writing novels and short stories is now an enjoyable almost daily routine. At the present time he has a five novel series, an anthology, along with a recently published romance novel. In early 2019, he published another anthology "Heart to Heart Anthology" which includes love and other short stories.

Dick's latest novel is "You Complete My Heart." He felt he needed to publish this romance novel using a different pen name and settled on Dixie Waters. He felt the novel would have a better chance of being read if it had a female author's name.

You Complete My Heart is about two teenagers, Nick Carter and Jeannie Brady, who meet and fall madly in love.

Motives, like sign posts, could be considered each person’s alternative paths in life. Sometimes you avoid one path and take another. This novel is about people’s choices and where they lead.

Nick’s and Jeannie’s are, like most adolescents, simple. They are unwrapping each layer of intimacy.

Nick’s step-dad is jealous of his relationship, and when he confiscates one of Jeannie’s love notes to Nick, he learns what they have already done and what she wants to do next.

Nick’s mom is caught between missing her first husband, who was killed in combat, and wanting to give her son a dad.

Forbidden by both of them to ever see Jeannie again, Nick becomes angry and vulnerable.

Marie, a beautiful high-school cheerleader, likes what happened when an innocent game of spin the bottle got more than out of hand with Nick. More experienced than Nick, she takes advantage of the situation and lures Nick into the spell of her charms.

Nick’s step-dad is paid more than money doing remodeling projects, but he takes advantage of Jeannie’s mom when he goes to collect their rent. Shocked, she can’t believe she didn’t resist his advances, but worries that he threatened both her daughters if she resists him in the future.

Pat, Jeannie’s older sister, is bored with her love life with Bob, and shares other love experiences with her sister. Not fully understanding why she consents to witness her sister’s love making, Jeannie finds herself drawn to watching and being watched.

Bob takes advantage of Jeannie and gets her to do something so he will get a love note from her to Nick.

This novel could have been titled The Tangled Web.

Like many things is life, they sort themselves out, but sometimes there are consequences.

Five novels in the Scott Tucker series starts with 'Branded for Murder' which is a serial-killer novel. Scott is a Harvard undergraduate. His life changes when he gets a call that his cousin is the strangler's newest victim. He joins the newly created task force to help find her killer. His life changes again when he meets the love of his life. He soon becomes the only thing between her and the killer.

The second novel in the series is 'Serial Separation' which is another serial-killer novel. Young former hockey players are being brutally killed. When only their torsos are washing up on New England shores, the authorities speculate their other parts are being kept as trophies by women. Scott knew the murdered men and joins a task force to help find the killer or killers. His efforts are aided by Mercedes Strong, who may have more than one motive to assist the authority's efforts. More men continue to be killed and Scott finds himself face to face with the killer.

The third novel is 'Scent of Gardenia' which continues the serial-killer theme. Rich young men and their expensive yachts are going missing while in Bermuda. Several investigations into the missing men are launched. When no ransom demands are made and no bodies are turning up, local authorities speculate they are being held for other purposes. Mercedes Strong is now with the FBI and is also involved along with Scott. They are now lovers and she wants him away from any potentially dangerous investigations. However, Scott is drawn into an investigation of his own, and does a good job of getting too close to danger.

The fourth novel is really two novels. 'Fragrance of Revenge' is in the style of the first three novels and 'Foreplay for Murder' kicks it up a notch to an adult version. Revenge stew is one part deformed redhead. Keep her hidden away and let her age into a gorgeous young woman. Add frequent non-consensual sex. Mix in some kinky ingredients. Sprinkle with hidden agendas. Strengthen with encouraging words. Permit the pot to simmer until frustrated. Whisk in Scott's picture and allow desire to rise until it overflows. Increase the heat until the Fragrance of Revenge is evident. Then bring to a boil and run for your life before she explodes all over and kills. If the chef is a man; you don't want to know how she does even more damage.
