Jay Hadley Baker was born in New Zealand in 1980. He spent his childhood moving around a lot, including a stint in Papua New Guinea, before eventually settling in Hamilton.
He enjoys the art of 'what if' - dropping an improbable element into a familiar situation and following through the consequences. Besides being a pleasant way to pass time when he should be working, this habit led directly to the writing of his first novel. 'Mr. Something' looks at how the idea of a superhero might play out in the real world. Could they actually achieve anything useful? Would they really fight crime? Or would there be something better they could do with their time?
Jay worked as a computer programmer for far too long, but now you are likely to find him sitting in a cafe and nursing a coffee while he works on finishing his second novel.
