Kevin Booth

Kevin Booth (a.k.a. K. Eastkott, Ralph Wulfboan and Kieran Lamour) began writing while working in the theatre—plays to learn English, such as 100 Meters (1992). Nowadays he writes gay fiction, sometimes funny, otherwise dramatic, often about Barcelona and its history, for example, his first novel, Celia’s Room (2011). Writing as Kieran Lamour, he publishes gay romance, such as His Truest Role (2026) and His Worst Crime (2026), while as Ralph Wulfboan, The Missing Bone (2026) is gay werewolf detective noir. His BCN Free Art series (2017) are guides to Barcelona’s art and architecture. As K. Eastkott he created the YA series “Seeking the Jewel Fish”, comprising Through the Whirlpool (2013), Twilight Crosser (2014) and Lake of Stone (2017), with Behind the Worlds (forthcoming)—a non-Eurocentric ocean world where dragons freely roam and magic lives in the wind and the waves.

After studying a BA (Hons) Literature at the Open University (UK), he undertook a postgraduate BA (Hons) Comparative Literature at Auckland University, both awarded First Class Honours. He combines writing with work as a translator, editor and content writer.

Also a keen visual artist, Kevin Booth works in oils, charcoal and inks, focussing on male figurative from a queer perspective. Born in Aotearoa New Zealand, he has lived in Auckland, Sydney, Melbourne, Madrid and London, though since 1988, Barcelona is the city he calls home.
