Jack W. Meek

Jack W. Meek, Ph.D is a University of La Verne Academy Professor and Professor Emeritus at the University of La Verne. Professor Meek offered courses in collaborative public management and complex systems in the graduate programs in public administration at the College of Business and Public Management. His research focuses on metropolitan governance including the emergence of administrative connections and relationships in local government, regional collaboration and partnerships, policy networks and citizen engagement. Professor Meek has co-authored a book on governance networks and co-edited books on collaborative public management, business improvement districts and intergovernmental relations. Jack serves on the editorial boards of Complexity, Governance and Networks, the International Journal of Organizational Theory and Behavior, Journal of Globalization Studies, Forum for Social Economics and Social Agenda. Jack has held visiting research/teaching appointments at the University of International Business and Economics (Beijing), Erasmus University (Rotterdam), , Universidade Estadual do Norte Fluminense (Campos, Brasil), Citizen Engagement Initiative, University of Southern California (Los Angeles), Claremont McKenna College (Claremont) and Manchester University (Indiana). Jack served as President of the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) in 2018; Chair of the Section of Intergovernmental Administration and Management and Executive Director of the Section on Complexity and Network Studies of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) (2006-2008) and Council Member of the Southern California Chapter of ASPA.
