Peter Russell-Yarde

Leaving the Royal Navy at 30 Peter became a Quality Engineer dealing with the manufacture of spacecraft and guided weapons. By his mid-forties he was working at R. A. Lister, the diesel engine manufacturer, where he had the opportunity to become a technical author, in which profession he remained employed until he was 72.

Peter was involved in the writing of user and maintenance manuals and training material in a variety of manufacturing companies and the nuclear electrical generating industry for 27 years, gaining membership of the Society of Authors in the early 1990s for the quality of his writing and creative skills.

After being made redundant in August 2002 from an American company, Peter's Jewish friend Derek asked him if he would write his thoughts on the book of Genesis. This he was able to do being out of his normal work as a technical author.

His work on Genesis was followed by one on Exodus, which was followed by Numbers and then, at the request of Rabbi Aaron, Derek's brother, by the book of Revelation. These books, and a number of others on the subject of faith, were originally sent out attached to emails all over the world, but they were particularly popular in China where they were translated into Chinese. They were also translated into Spanish for the South American church and the work on Revelation was been translated into Hebrew.

His book "The Tent of the Meeting : Illustrating God's Plan of Salvation" is a major work that has been described by Aaron, who served for many years as a Rabbi in America, as awesome (the dictionary definition). It can best be described as a user manual for those seeking to understand what God's offer of salvation is all about without the jargon and theological speak. It is both a scholarly and profoundly spiritual work, yet easy to read and understand through the clarity of its prose. A recent reviewer on Amazon (December 2014) described it as an Awesome book explaining that they had borrowed it for a research paper on the Tent and the ark of the covenant and it help a lot, stating that it was very well written and easy to read.

Peter's writing has already changed the lives of many through his deep insight into scriptural truths and his work on Genesis has been recommended to those starting a theological degree. All his books are offered as unique, clear and spiritually uplifting instructional works, which many will find hard to ignore.

A one time Methodist Local Preacher, Peter has been a prison visitor since January 1st 1990 and attends morning service every Sunday with his wife Joan at the prison chapel. He has three sons and six grandchildren.
