Ted Turnau was born in Rhode Island, raised in rural Pennsylvania, and now teaches culture, media, and religious studies at Anglo-American University in Prague, Czech Republic. He's lived there with his wife and family since 1999. He graduated from Westminster Theological Seminary with both an M.Div. and a Ph.D. in apologetics. He is Chair of Literature and Culture at Anglo-American University, Prague, Czech Republic, where he teaches on popular culture, fandom, social theory, religious studies, and sociology of religion. His writing and research interests circle around the territory where faith, imagination, and culture (especially popular culture) intersect. He enjoys listening to jazz, blues, roots music and some electronica (thanks to his eldest daughter). He enjoys watching American football, good movies (especially samurai and kaiju movies), anime, good television, and the occasional Youtube video. He's been married to Carolyn since 1986. She's an awesome quilter, and teaches Bible at a local Christian school. They have raised three kids, and currently have three cats and a rabbit.
