Heidi Peaster

Heidi Peaster was born on March 29, 1953, into a sprawling, old Southern family and was raised on old Southern family stories. The McKenna Chronicles began and took shape as she and Roger, her husband of thirty-nine years, raised their family of three biological daughters while fostering and adopting special needs children.

After moving with their remaining five kids to an 18 acre farm on family land in the North Georgia foothills, Peaster began freelance writing, having articles published in magazines such as You and Me Medical Magazine and Georgia Family Magazine.

Now, her first love, the fictitious McKenna family about which she has been writing since 1972, has come to light for the public to read. “It’s only right,” Peaster states. “Writing the McKennas during naptime all these years helped me able to raise all these kids.”
