Angelo F. Coniglio

I'm a retired civil engineer and university adjunct professor. After retiring, being a first-generation Sicilian-American, I became active in genealogy. I enjoy researching my Sicilian ancestors and helping others to identify theirs. I write genealogy columns for two monthly magazines and volunteer as a librarian at a nearby LDS FamilySearch Center. I have a family website at http:www.conigliofamily.com which, among other things, has pages describing my two trips to Sicily, and a page with detailed information about conducting genealogical research.

My genealogic studies inspired me to write my first book, The Lady of the Wheel, set in the town of Racalmuto, Sicily in the 1800s. It tells of the tribulations of poor families, describing daily life in one of the iconic small "comuni" of Sicily.

I'm a voracious reader of many genres, sometimes reading two or three books at the same time. Michener, Rutherfurd, Follett, Asimov, Attanasio and Silverberg are among the authors I admire greatly.

Seaside and lakeside beaches are my passion. My wife Angie and I (and when they were young, our children Angelo and Angela) have visited most of the shorelines, fresh and salty, of the United States. Seafood is our favorite sustenance, and we're lucky enough to have a summer cottage on Crystal Beach, on the shores of Lake Erie in Canada.

During the ten-year existence (1960-1969) of the genesis of modern Professional Football, the American Football League, my wife and I were its greatest fans. I have a website devoted to the AFL at http://www.rembertheafl.com
