Cygnet Brown

Cygnet Brown is a historical fiction author, nonfiction writer, and U.S. Navy veteran living in the Missouri Ozarks. Her pen name uniquely ties her past and present together—combining "Cygnet" (a baby swan, after her maiden name Swanson) with her married surname.

Inspired to write after crafting her first story in a seventh-grade English class, Cygnet built a rich life before stepping into full-time authorship—serving 18 years across active duty and Navy Reserves, raising a family, and earning a B.A. in Liberal Arts (magna cum laude).

Her debut novel, When God Turned His Head, launched The Locket Saga, a beloved historical series born from her obsession with obscure history and hidden stories of the past. Beyond her novels, she has written several nonfiction titles, contributed to Mother Earth News, and runs her own publishing imprint, Ozark Grannies' Secrets LLC.

Off the page, Cygnet is a dedicated gardener, researcher, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is also the founder of Self-Publishers Unite!, a Skool community where she helps authors build predictable book marketing systems.
