Roberto De Vogli

Roberto De Vogli is an Associate Professor in Global Health at the University of Michigan (UM) and a Senior Lecturer in Social Epidemiology at University College London (UCL.) His qualifications include a PhD and MPH in Public Health at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA.)

Professor De Vogli has gained substantial international experienced after having worked for numerous governmental and non-governmental organizations in different countries including Guatemala, Vietnam, Tanzania, Russia and Mexico. He consulted for UN Agencies including the World Bank in Washington DC and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva. He is also a former member of the Globalization and Health Knowledge Network of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health.

De Vogli is the author of more than 70 articles and book chapters in the field of political, economic and psychosocial determinants of global health and health inequalities. His articles appeared in peer-reviewed journals including The Lancet, British Medical Journal, New England Journal of Medicine and Annals of Internal Medicine. His first book “Progress or Collapse: the Crises of Market Greed” will be published in January 2013 by Routledge/Francis & Taylor Publishing Group.

His work appeared in TV stations such as NBC, in radio programs such as BBC Radio 4 and Australian Broadcasting Corporations and newspapers including The Los Angeles Times, BBC, Reuters, Associated Press, NBC, and The Guardian.
