Sam Luce

Sam Luce is the Director of ChildDiscipleship at Awana and has been an active voice in the global children’s ministry community for years. He co-authored Forming Faith and How to Teach Kids Theology, and has contributed to multiple book projects and numerous articles, and has written regularly since 2007. Presently, he writes on Substack, helped coin the term "kidmin," and is a frequent conference speaker.

Before joining Awana, Sam served as a pastor for 28 years. He holds a BA in Theology and dual Master’s degrees from Knox Seminary. Sam Is a current doctoral candidate at Western Theological Seminary.

Sam’s passion is the power of the Gospel at work in people’s lives, producing lasting faith in the next generation. He and his wife, Sandra, have four children. When he’s not writing or speaking, Sam enjoys time with family, baseball, and reading—usually more than one book at a time.
