Brad Grusnick, a native of Wausau, Wisconsin, graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor's Degree in Theatre. He studied Improv and Comedy Writing with The Second City Conservatory in Chicago and went on to write for several sketch comedy shows in both Chicago and Los Angeles. He is a prolific voice actor and has voiced dozens of video games, commercials, and animated series. He is an adjunct professor teaching Voice Acting for Animation at Columbia College. After 11 years in Los Angeles, he returned to the midwest to be closer to family, though he feels the pull from SoCal every single day.
The Vagrant Mystery Series was born out of his love of the detectives in the novels of Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, and Mickey Spillane. What if a modern detective didn't have direct access to modern technology? The only way that could be possible is if that detective lived outside the system. Enter Raymond Cobb, the Sam Spade of vagrants. Like the Continental Op or Mike Hammer, Ray has to rely on his wit and connections to get the answers he needs, he doesn't have access to CSI. "The Last Will and Testament of Ernie Politics" is an homage to the LA of pulp novels and noir movies, a sunny city with lots of dark shadows.
