Stephen Goodrum

Stephen M. Goodrum is an ordained minister and a licensed social worker. He has worked for an outreach agency in Detroit, Michigan for the past seventeen years. He says when he retires; he could be a cab driver in the city, knowing all of the ins and outs of Detroit.

Not a native of S.E. Michigan, he grew up in Evansville, Indiana where he earned a B.A. degree in English and a Secondary Teaching Certificate from the University of Evansville where he met his wife, Donna. He taught English for several years before moving to Ohio where he received a Masters of Divinity degree in Theology and a Masters of Arts degree in education at Ashland Theological Seminary.

He ministered in churches for fifteen years in Ohio and Michigan, but desiring to outreach to people who were not in the church, he became the Director of a Young Fatherhood Mentoring program in Detroit for the next twelve years. He is currently the Director of Adult Education for "The Education Experience," St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center, having developed an individualized GED tutoring program for adults.

He's always enjoyed telling stories when he taught in the church and in the classroom setting. He says, I've always been an avid reader of all genres of fiction and non-fiction, and have started books several times, but had not completed on until now. He is currently working on a sequel to Blue Water Dead entitled Red Dolphin Dead. He will be completing the first novella of a wedding series "Officiant Books." The first installment will be out in June: "The Perfect Wedding Day...Disaster."

He is the father to two married sons, a grandfather to two granddaughters, and he lives with his wife of forty years, with their dog and cat, in Holly, Michigan. They love the beaches of Lake Michigan on the west side of the state, and Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair on the east side of the state. He said he's become "Pure Michigan."
