Hello and welcome to InfoRailMap Atlas Author Page.

Well another year and another update!

So why purchase this Atlas?

The first and perhaps most important reason is that it is durable! We have bought and used big folding Map/Atlases ourselves and they disintegrate quite quickly, no matter how well you look after them .. the more you use them the more they disintegrate!

The Europe-wide Atlases are wide A4 Letter size so when you open it as a spread you get a large distance .. obviously not as useful as the big folded map but for the purpose of planning a trip is easily good enough. The Atlas ALL have a hard wearing glossy laminate covers and the A4 Letter versions are easily folding in half and super easy to pack away in a backpack and with the added bonus of often encourage your stuff to say organised in your backpack too!

The second reason is that it is created by experienced Interrailers who completely ‘get’ what is important. Planning an Interrail is a complex process and we wanted to make an Atlas that, at an instant glance, pin pointed the locations that you are interested in and quickly picked out the scenic routes and provided the ferry route info so you can easily include countries like Finland in your plans. Our Atlases are not just maps—they’re the story of countless Interrail adventures brought together and improved year on year!

We’ve packed in knowledge!

Knowledge is an AWSEOME thing .. we have jammed packed the Atlases with as much useful location, network and geographical info as we possibly can! The Atlas is super busy in places but as ALL interrailers know .. you do get to spend quite a bit of time hanging around with not much to while you wait for a train or too! You have plenty of time to study the Atlas and see ALL the amazing places you can visit and what you might expect when you get there!

For example: Freiburg (im Breisgau) in south west Germany on the popular route between Karlsruhe and Basel and we found this amazing Funicular which takes you from the attractive Medieval Old World town to the up Schlossberg mountain for stunning and far reaching views of the town below! On a bright blue sunny day, seeking out a location like this where you can really take in the area is an experience you are never going to forget. We have tried to include in the Atlas all the places and interesting details to make planning your Interrail as rewarding as is can possibly be!

Icons simplify the planning process!

Icons extend to Puffins in Scotland to Castle which double up as locations that you can stay! Basically if there is something interesting about somewhere we place an Icon so you can know about it!

Obviously the UNESCO sites are the first places you would expect to include on any Adventure Bucket List .. and UNESCO actually covers quite a large remit .. but as a super budget conscious traveller will tell you many listed sights now attract big entrance fees .. but many are eg Pompei (just south of Naples) are destinations that are 100% worth the entrance fee.

Roman artefacts are always impressive and the south west of France has many of the most easily accessible and Spain has some of the most impressive eg Segovia. But you can also find incredible Roman Artefacts in Bulgaria, Plovdiv and in Greece, Peloponnese has awesome Roman Theatre of Asklepieion of Epidaurus.

Our Atlas make spotting these extraordinary locations almost instant! The Amphitheatre icon is super obvious .. you find it .. you then go on the internet have a look on Google maps .. check it out .. And YES it is awesome!

Cathedral cities are much more than just their Cathedral. Cathedrals are significant architectural marvels from the tallest in Ulm Germany to the most easily recognised in Rome. The point of the Cathedral Icon is that you can quickly filter out the towns and cities which are going to impress 100% even on a cloudy and dull day as you have a building which is often free to visit to admire!

Castles are VERY cool! The Castle + observation deck icon describe locations where you are going to find an impressive Castle structure in conjunction with a BIG view .. typically some of the best are in France, Czechia, Germany, Switzerland, Spain and the UK and a good walk and castle destination means you are getting some needed exercise from sitting on a train!

Europe is blessed with many beautiful and lovingly restored Medieval Old Towns and there are two icons which relate to these locations where you are going to typically find timber and colourful buildings.

Museums are places to hunt out when the weather is unpredictable and you want to expand your head space! We included the Museum icon to let you now there is a place of refuge from the cold in the winter months!

Geography is important!

InfoRailMap Illustrated Atlas makes it super obvious which network routes include stunning scenery! We have also included specific coloured highlights for the many beautiful Swiss Branded scenic routes including UNESCO Bernina pass between Tirano in Italy to Chur eastern Switzerland .. to the sublime Golden Pass between Montreaux (on the shores of lake Geneve) to Interlaken. Including these routes is (in our opinion) are the top of the bucket list routes to include in any Rail Pass Adventure and no matter how many times you do these routes it is as jaw dropping and spectacular as the first!

The A-Z at the back of Atlas also doubles as an excellent Bucket List of destinations .. so if you are wanting a quick destination guide for a country then head to the A-Z index and these are the places which offer the tourist the most to enjoy.

So how to purchase the Atlas that suites you and your budget?

We have two different POD products and they are different in quality and are all listed on Amazon but not ALL are printed by Amazon! It is a little bit complicated .. but Amazon are awesome especially for their POD product. But they do not list their POD products anywhere else except Amazon.
