Paul Adkin is a British-born writer with a degree in Drama and English. He grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and, after graduating in 1979, worked as a playwright, director and actor. Since 1986, Paul has been living in Madrid. In 2004 he set up his own theatre company, Ņu Teatro. He now writes in Spanish as well as English and he is the editor and a contributor to a cultural magazine in Spanish called Ņu Ņuz. He has a deep interest in history and philosophy and apart from novels and theatre he writes short fiction, essays and aphorisms. He has three published novels: Purgatory, Art Wars and When Sirens Call. The latter has been translated and published in Greek. His published non-fiction works are the philosophical and political essays of Dismantling the Paradigm, also written in Spanish as Desmantelando el paradigma, and a book of aphorisms called Fake Lies.
