Marie Buckner is currently a proud member of the senior citizen regade.."the Boomers".. Unlike many her age, she takes ZERO medications.

Marie is a born and raised USA Midwesterner who possesses an advanced university degree. Relating to her writing career, she is a published hard copy and ebook author, tkr blogger, ezine author, and WEGO Patient Leader.

Background: On December 13, 1975, she was involved in a head-on car collision that resulted in numerous injuries. The accident caused her head to hit the dashboard/steering wheel/and go through the windshield. This impact resulted in a closed head injury, subdermal hematoma, traumatic brain injury, fractured mandible (jaw), weak muscle/damaged nerve to left eye (resulting in strabismus or double vision), fractured C-1, fractured ribs, internal bleeding of kidneys, and a fractured femur. She spent two years living in body casts.

Long story short...Eventually she needed a total knee replacement.

She writes about her experiences on her award-winning site/blog titled "Booktoots' Healing" in an attempt to help others feel less alone throughout their total knee replacement journey and beyond. She also decided to author books about the various conditions she has learned to live with in an attempt to help others going through the same thing.
