Timothy Rayner

Dr Tim Rayner teaches 'Leadership, Teams and Scalability' in the MBA (Entrepreneurship) Program at UTS Business School in Sydney, Australia. He is an internationally-recognized philosopher and action educator with over 10 years experience working in social entrepreneurship, startup innovation and entrepreneurial leadership development.

Tim's most recent book, Hacker Culture and the New Rules of Innovation (Routledge 2018), explores the impact of software hacking and startup entrepreneurship on 21st century business innovation, and how companies can learn from hackers to build thriving innovation ecosystems. Prior to engaging the world of startups and hacker entrepreneurship, Tim published two philosophy books, Life Changing: A Philosophical Guide (2nd ed. 2016) and Foucault's Heidegger: Philosophy and Transformative Experience (Continuum 2007).

Tim's other achievements include writing the collaborative short film, ‘Coalition of the Willing’ (2010). ‘Coalition of the Willing’ won the Grand Jury Prize at the 2010 Hampton International Film Festival, Best Short Film at the 2012 San Francisco Green Film Festival, and Best Environmental Short at 2011 FlickerFest, Sydney.
