Jack Stamp

I was the second of seven children and raised in a small New England coastal area that was bustling in the summer and then desolate for the rest of the year. Understanding that education was my ticket to better things, I was a good student, was awarded a BA in Chemistry and won a fellowship to graduate school that resulted in a Doctorate in Analytical Chemistry.

Applied my expertise in chemistry to the environment, starting with the cellars of Love Canal with their dioxin waste oozing from cracked foundations and onto the present day, evaluating the impacts of Hurricane Katrina and the Gulf oil spill. While my first jobs were running laboratories in Cambridge MA, I later founded an environmental consulting company that assists government, industry and law firms. Nowadays, most of my work is as an expert witness for criminal and civil litigation.

I was fortunate enough to marry the scientist in an adjacent lab at Grad school and am the father of two grown children. My wife is the first to read my work and is my toughest critic and biggest fan.

Cape Ann, Massachusetts is where I live, write, kayak and mountain bike. I'm presently working on the sequel to the Chelsea Project and another novel.
