Learn More Quickly with Pictures and Stories
I have taught dyslexics and English language learners and am deeply concerned with the low level of American literacy. So I built creative materials to help busy people master the alphabetic principle and math basics on their own.
Many of these ebooks are study guides that offer a memorable way to review the letters and sounds of English and Hebrew and build quick recall of math facts and terms. My approach is based on research that shows pictures and stories help us retain and retrieve information and on ideas described in The Dyslexic Advantage and Moonwalking with Einstein, two books I love.
With my latest ebook series Easier English for Dyslexics 1 through 17 – see the D M Baker author's page – I organized English sounds and spelling patterns alphabetically and by sound. This series is a simple pictorial system to improve phonemic awareness making letters and sounds easier to recall.
Teaching the basics of computer encryption - see docrypt.com - is another of my passions as well as spreading images and messages of joy, gratitude and self awareness which I do through Sunshine Greetings ebooks and products at zazzle.com/sunshinegreetings. My "photo" above is by Gloria Meer. Search on her name in Amazon to see all her cheerful ebooks.
Thank you for your interest and encouraging reviews. I hope you enjoy and benefit from these materials.
