Julien Zarifian is Professor (full) in US History at the University of Poitiers (English Department / MIMMOC). He is honorary fellow at the Institut Universitaire de France (2020-25) and former visiting scholar at American University, Washington, DC (2025), USC, Los Angeles (2017-18, as a Fulbright fellow), and UC Berkeley (2007, as a Fulbright fellow too). From 2011 to 2022, he was Associate Professor at CY Cergy Paris University. He received his PhD in Geopolitics from the French Institute of Geopolitics, Paris 8 University, in 2010, and he is a specialist of US (geo)political history and studies. His research involves US foreign policy, and the links between history, memory, and (geo)politics in the United States. He is member of the editorial board of academic journals 'Politique Américaine' and 'Études Arméniennes Contemporaines', and co-editor of the series 'Des Amériques' at the Presses universitaires de Rennes.
