She is of German and Cree descent and lives in Brandon, Manitoba with her husband Charles and adopted daughter Sapphira.
As an energy-healing practitioner, she either travels doing healing work or has others come to her home for sessions and cherishes those moments with her clients.

In March of 2010, Isabel was the recipient of the YWCA's annual Women of Distinction Awards.
She has written seven children's stories based on the Seven Sacred Teachings of aboriginal cultures. She wrote and published 'Beyond Life's Storms' in 2004. A biography chronicling her adversities and surmounting them awaits publication. Her latest book 'The Upsider' is a sci-fi/fantasy based on legends and stories she heard throughout her life. It is the first of a planned trilogy.
