Simon Bowmaker (born 1971 in Sunderland, England) is Clinical Associate Professor of Economics at New York University. In addition to NYU, he has taught economics at several universities, including the University of Edinburgh, Florida State University, the University of Colorado Denver, the State University of New York at Buffalo, Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Texas at Austin, and Queensland University of Technology in Australia. Before pursuing an academic career, he served as UK Economist at HSBC Markets in London, and held economist positions at the Government Economic Service in the UK and Cambridge Econometrics, a consulting firm. He holds an MA, an MPhil, and a PhD, all in economics, from the Universities of Aberdeen, Cambridge, and St Andrews respectively.
