To my readers,
Thayer Roy is my pen name. My real name is Bob Dias. Three years ago, I thought since all of the men had failed, I thought a female president might be the answer. The knowledge for writing about the president’s role came from my experiences testifying before various Congressional and state legislative bodies, the interaction I had on The Hill with legislator like Senator Philip A. Hart, a Democrat from Michigan, and time spent in various Congressional Offices. But my best insights into government came from positions with the Treasury Department, Health & Human Services and the Department of Defense when Bob McNamara was in charge. As a financial and business consultant, I provided services to American Express, Proctor & Gamble and Midas Muffler. My private clients included the heirs to the Reynolds Tobacco fortune and the Lawrence Welk family.
As the president of the National Association of Franchised Businessmen, I, with attorney Jerry D. Cohen, were instrumental in getting legislation passed that would protect franchise buyers. My now out of print book: Franchising the Investors Complete Handbook was a best seller. I was also an original founder of Mail Boxes Etc.—now known as the UPS Stores.
Another nonfiction book, The People Count, also available on
Amazon, has gotten outstanding reviews.
Stay well,
Bob Dias
