Derek Bauer

Derek Bauer is a Michigan real estate broker and the author of a practical guide to selling a home for the most the market will bear.

He has worked as a full-time REALTOR in southeast Michigan since 2001, and he writes about the parts of a home sale most sellers never see: how a price actually gets set against the homes a buyer is choosing between, which preparation earns its cost back and which does not, and how a negotiation is usually won or lost before the first offer ever arrives.

Derek holds the Certified Residential Specialist designation from the Residential Real Estate Council. Before real estate he spent several years in technology and business-process consulting, which is where the habit of measuring everything came from. He was raised on a working farm, which is where the rest of it came from.

He lives and works in Livingston County, Michigan.
