Zella Compton

Zella Compton writes funny contemporary fiction with a little bit of magic, and a lot of heart.

She is particularly interested in impossible situations, complicated people, strange seaside towns, unlikely love stories and the things we want most — especially when we know we probably shouldn't have them.

The Footman is her second novel.

She currently lives in the UK and, when she isn't writing fiction - or working her day job as an editor - she's thinking about stories, people and what might happen if ordinary life suddenly became very strange.

The Ten Rules of Skimming was her first novel - published in 2011 by Mogzilla for young adults.
