I'm an author, parent, teacher, and teacher educator with a passion and interest in supporting gifted students. I've had the joy of spending more years teaching gifted learners, and teachers of gifted learners than I like to admit (because it makes me sound really old!)- so let's just say more than 25 years.

The thing that touches me most about working with gifted individuals is the response I get when their eyes widen and fill with relief, and they say something like "Oh my gosh! I never realized that's why I'm the way I am!" I believe self-knowledge is empowering. Gifted are often highly sensitive individuals whose intellect, creativity and inner drive, whilst it is potentially the stuff of their genius, can also be a double-edged sword. Understanding their giftedness puts them back in control.

The thing that thrills me the most about working with teachers is the excitement in their eyes and the passion they have for their vocation.

I write for both teachers and parents of gifted in the hope that by sharing the knowledge I've gained I'll continue to make a difference. My next book will be for parents of gifted teens.
