Lawrence Maturo

I am a software developer, inventor, and author. When I was growing up my family owned a carnival and circus, and I traveled with it in the summer. My brother currently owns a carnival. I was born in Chicago, Il, raised in Charleston, Ky, and currently live in Austin, Tx with my wife and two standard poodles; Atlas and Zorro. At one time, while living in Kentucky, my family owned an elephant. The local vet was quite surprised when we called him in to treat her. When she got scared, she ran and hid behind my father. I was also a medic in the Air Force at one point.

My wife and I enjoy movies, and try to see any interesting new ones that are playing. We also attend the annual Austin Movie Festival in October. One time we managed to fit in 22 movies in the 10 days it was on. We particularly like Sci-Fi movies, and we also read a lot, including Sci-Fi books.

My book on eBay came about because my wife and I thought that during the economic down turn we could buy things on eBay inexpensively, and then when the economy recovered, we could sell them at a profit. Things didn't quite turn out that way. Bargains? Not so much. Education? You bet.
