I am an ordinary working man since 1971, working in a variety of jobs in London and Limerick. I would consider London to be a second home, a place where I could easily slot in again. I have for a long time been a union activist in the workplace, though I am neither politically left nor right wing. When I am not working I enjoy walking with my gun dogs, though I do not like guns in amateur hands. Prior to the events covered in my book I had no involvement in the criminal justice system and it was all a big learning curve for me. I once had ambitions to be a photographer or cameraman but following my experiences outside the Old Bailey at the hands of that noble bunch that ambition was consigned to the dustbin. But I still enjoy a little amateur photography.
